In April, the index was down by an annual 5.4%.
The average value of the Online Vacancy Index (OVI) measuring labour demand has lost 2.4% since the end of last year, the Institute of Economics Zagreb (EIZ) said in a monthly report on Tuesday.
However, in the second quarter of the year the OVI was 1.4% higher compared to the first quarter.
"Short-term signals from the labour market are therefore moderately favourable and point to growth in activity in the second quarter, but we will be able to give the final verdict on this matter when the data for the current month become available," EIZ added.
Just like a year earlier, demand was highest for salespersons, cooks and waiters.
