Kosovo's trade gap widens 6.5% y/y in Sept

October 21 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's trade deficit expanded by 6.5% year-on-year to 401.1 million euro ($389.5 million) in September, the country's statistical office said on Friday.

Exports rose by 1.9% year-on-year to 77 million euro, while imports increased by 5.8% to 478.1 million euro in September, the statistical office said in a statement.

Kosovo's main export destinations in September were Germany, North Macedonia and Albania. Base metals, various manufactured articles and plastic and rubber products were Kosovo's main export items.

Mineral products, base metals and food made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in September. Most of the imports originated in Turkey, China and Germany.

Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 38.3% year-on-year to 3.9 billion euro in 2021.
