Kosovo's Sept CPI Rises 0.4% M/M, Down 2.7% Y/Y

October 19 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.4% on the month in September and was down by 2.7% on the year, Kosovo's Statistics Office said.

In August, consumer prices in Kosovo were 0.2% lower on the month and 3.0% lower on the year, the office said in a monthly report.

In September 2008 the CPI was 0.1% higher on the month and 7.8% higher on the year.

Fruit prices fell by 3.0% on the month in September 2009, while vegetable prices went up by 11.7%.

On an annual basis, the September CPI drop was mainly due to a 25.2% fall in the prices oils and fats. Prices of bread and wheat products fell by an annual 12.5%, while prices of milk and dairy products fell by 8.2%.

The average annual inflation for last year is estimated at 9.4%.
