Kosovo’s Credins Bank Q1 loss narrows y/y

May 16 (SeeNews) - The Kosovo unit of Albania’s Credins Bank recorded a loss of 129,330 euro ($140,599) in the first quarter of 2024, an improvement compared to the 380,400 euro loss recorded in the same period in 2023, the lender said.

In the first three months, Banka Credins Kosove's net interest income increased 60% to 582,000 euro, according to a statement published on its website last week.

Loans increased 42% to 61.4 million euro as at the end of March. The bank's deposit portfolio expanded 6% to 53.7 million euro.

The lender's assets totalled 83.5 million euro at end-March, compared with 63.6 million euro a year earlier.

Credins Bank Kosove recorded a profit of 128,000 euro in 2023, the lender said in January, following a loss of 1.9 million euro in 2022.

Banka Credins Kosove was the tenth largest lender by assets out of eleven banks that operated in Kosovo in the first quarter of 2023, according to Kosovo Banking Association.
