More than half of Kosovo's jobless in July were women, CBAK said in its monthly report, quoting figures from Kosovo's Employment Office. Kosovo has a population of 2.1 million.

Kosovo, where 90% of the population is ethnic Albanian, declared its secession from Serbia in February, after almost nine years under the administration of the United Nations. Serbia, backed by its historical ally Russia, says it would never recognise Kosovo as an independent state. More than 40 countries have recognised Kosovo’s independence.
