April 24 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banks increased to 43.6 million euro ($46.6 million) in the first quarter of 2024, from 40.3 million euro in the prior-year period, the country's central bank said on Wednesday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks totalled 5.1 billion euro at the end of March, up 13% year-on-year, the central bank said in a monthly data release.
Deposits with Kosovo's banks rose by 9% at the year in March, reaching 6.05 billion euro.
The total assets of Kosovo's banking system increased by 11% on the year to 7.496 billion euro as at the end of March.
The figures comprise the financial results of eleven banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and NLB Banka were the largest among them in terms of assets by the end of the fourth quarter, according to Kosovo’s banking association.
