The delivery comprised 20 110 kV power transformers that will support the newly developed 60 MW Jaunolaine transformer substation, Koncar said in its monthly newsletter on Monday.

The delivery is integral to the construction of Latvia's most extensive solar power plant to date and represents one of the Baltic nation's initial forays into large-scale renewable energy generation, Koncar added. It did not disclose the value of the deal.

The Croatian manufacturer plans to dispatch an additional array of instrument transformers to Latvia within the next 14 months, all designed for voltage levels of up to 362 kV and predominantly featuring biodegradable liquid insulation from its eco-conscious Green line series. The unit has developed them to significantly reduce environmental impact and carbon emissions, while simultaneously enhancing operational safety.

Koncar’s shares traded 3.94% higher at 264 euro ($289) on Tuesday morning on the Zagreb bourse.
