The MoU envisages the establishment of a thermal power plant on the basis of the development of the Kushmurun coal deposit in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna said in a statement on Friday.

Eren Enerji is currently conducting a pre-feasibility study on the project. The two companies plan to form joint venture firms for the construction of the plant and the development of the coal deposit, according to the statement.
