April 18 (SeeNews) - Greek toy retailer Jumbo said the group's sales in Bulgaria increased by an annual 10% in the first quarter of 2024, against a 6% rise posted for the group overall.
In March alone, sales in Bulgaria went up by 10% on the year, lower than the 17% growth registered for the group as a whole, Jumbo said in a statement on Wednesday.
In Romania, Jumbo's sales climbed by 14% year-on-year last month and by 13% in January-March.
In the first three months of last year, the group booked a 33% annual jump in sales in Bulgaria and a 29% increase in Romania, according to an earlier statement.
By the end of the year, Jumbo said it plans to open a hyperstore in Cyprus' Nicosia and two stores in Romania, in Timisoara and Bucharest, as well as reopen its store in Larissa, Greece.
