BUCHAREST (Romania), September 17 (SeeNews) – Construction output in Romania and Slovenia recorded the highest monthly decreases in July among all European Union member states, the bloc's statistics office reported on Thursday.
In Romania construction output dropped by a monthly 9.0% in July, while in Slovenia it fell by 4.6%, Eurostat said in a statement.
In Bulgaria, the output was down by a monthly 2.4% in July.
Construction output in the EU fell by 1.1% month-on-month in July. The sharpest growth was recorded in Poland, by 5.2%, followed by Sweden with 1.7% and Portugal with 0.2%.

Romania joined the EU together with Bulgaria in January 2007. Slovenia joined the bloc in 2004 and entered the eurozone in 2007.
