December 29 (SeeNews) - Japanese car parts manufacturer Yazaki plans to open a new car cable plant in the southeastern Romanian city of Braila, Bucharest-based media reported on Monday.

Yazaki has requested state aid worth 21.6 million lei ($5.9 million/4.8 million euro) to create 1,215 jobs in Braila, financial daily Ziarul Financiar said, adding that the company could thus become the third-largest employer in Braila county.

Last year, Yazaki employed about 4,700 people at its four Romanian units, the daily added.
