Jan-Sept Investments in Fixed Assets in Moldova Fall 42.5% Y/Y

October 30 (SeeNews) - Investments in fixed assets in Moldova fell 42.5% on the year to 5.56 billion lei ($504 million/340 million euro) in the first nine months of 2009, the country's statistics bureau said on Friday.

Investments in construction works decreased by 37.8% to 3.14 billion lei, the bureau said in a statement.

It added that 58% of the fixed-asset investments in January-September were made with local companies' own funds. Foreign investments in fixed assets in the country had a 19% share of the total value.

Some 36.6% of all investments went into the upgrade of production facilities, the bureau said.
