Italy’s Lamp San Prospero opens 3.0 mln euro factory in Serbia

Lamp East, the Serbian arm of Lamp San Prospero, was set up to cater for pharmaceutical makers in Eastern Europe, the fund said in a statement. The factory, which employs 56, is initially equipped for aluminium foil printing while the second phase foresees a line for slitting aluminium and plastic materials.

The packaging maker is the first to open a facility in the technology park of northern Vrsac. The hub is located on six hectares near the international railway line Belgrade-Bucharest. It was built with EU assitance under its programme for supporting development of regional infrastructure

The park's main targets are companies from the pharmaceutical industry. So far sector players such as Sensilab and Fresenius Medical Care have showed interest and are planing investments next year.
