SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 15 (SeeNews) – Israeli optics chain Halperin Optics has invested 500,000 euro ($673,900) in the launch of two stores under the Optic 1 brand in Sofia, Israeli website ynetnews.com reported.
Halperin will also open three outlets in Varna, on the Black Sea, and plans to invest 18,000 euro in an advertising campaign, ynetnews.com said on Friday.
The Israeli company said it decided to expand to Bulgaria due to expectations that the country will enter the eurozone in the near term.
Sofia is a favored shopping destination among European consumers because it offers a large variety of international brands at prices lower than those in the continent's other capital cities, Halperin Optics CEO Yaakov Halperin told the website.
The company has no plans to launch stores in other European countries, the site added.
