December 14 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Iran Air plans to launch regular flights connecting Serbia's capital Belgrade to Tehran, Serbian media reported.
Iran Air has applied for a launch of Tehran-Belgrade flights that will be operated twice a week as of the 2017-2018 winter season, news portal Aviatica reported on Wednesday.
During a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Serbia in October, Serbian foreign minister Ivica Dacic said the two countries would work on signing an air transport agreement which would allow the launch of a direct Belgrade-Tehran route.
In August, the Serbian government abolished the visas for Iranian citizens in a bid to facilitate the arrival of tourists and potential investors from the Asian country.
