Investments in Romanian Economy Fall 22.5% in Jan-Sept - Stats Board

December 4 (SeeNews) - Investments in the Romanian economy fell by 22.5% on the year to 43.070 billion lei ($15.3 billion/10.1 billion euro) in the first nine months of 2009, the country's statistics board, INS, said on Friday.

Investments fell by 29.9% on the year to 16.141 billion lei in the third quarter of 2009 alone, INS said in a statement.

Investments in trade and services accounted for 41.7% of the total in the first nine months of 2009, followed by investments in industry with a 40.6% share. Investments in construction and agriculture accounted for 11.9% and 3.4% of the total, respectively.
