IMF upgrades Bosnia's 2024 economic growth f'cast to 2.5%

April 17 (SeeNews) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said it has raised its forecast for Bosnia and Herzegovina's economic growth this year to 2.5%, up from its earlier projection of 2% made in October.

In 2025, Bosnia's economic growth is projected to accelerate to 3%, the global lender said in the latest edition of its World Economic Outlook report on Tuesday.

The country's economy is estimated to have expanded by 1.8% in 2023, according to IMF.

Bosnia's average consumer price inflation is projected to slow down to 3% in 2024 from 6.1% last year. Its current account deficit is projected at 4.5% of GDP in 2024, up from 4.3% of GDP in 2023.

The IMF expects that the economy of the Emerging and Developing Europe area will expand by 3.1% in 2024, after growing by 3.2% in 2023.
