CHISINAU (Moldova), October 26 (SeeNews) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has appointed Tokhir Mirzoev as its new resident representative for Moldova, the country's government press office said.
Mirzoev, 33, will replace Johan Mathisen, who has been the IMF resident representative in Moldova since 2005, the press office said in a statement.
Mirzoev, born in Tajikistan, has been an economist at IMF's European department since 2006, it said. He will assume the new post in Moldova at the end of November, it added.
The IMF mission is on a visit to Moldova until October 28 to review possibilities of signing a new loan agreement with the country.
The IMF's $167 million (111 million euro) Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) arrangement with Moldova, signed in 2006, expired in May this year.
