Holding Varna leads Bulgarian blue-chip decliners, SOFIX falls

August 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian diversified group Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] led the blue-chip decliners on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday, bourse data showed.

Holding Varna shares closed 2.72% lower at 34.00 levs ($20.75/17.4 euro) as 105 units changed hands.

Total trading turnover on the BSE almost doubled to 1.78 million levs on Wednesday, from 954,338 levs on Tuesday.

Real estate investment trust (REIT) Advance Terrafund [BUL:6A6] was the most traded blue-chip company on Wednesday, as 114,856 of its shares changed hands at an average price of 2.252 levs.

The blue-chip SOFIX index shed 0.65% to 706.54 points, after falling 0.39% on Tuesday.

The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, decreased 0.55% to 134.82 points, after losing 0.46% on Tuesday.

The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, lost 0.05% to 116.26 points on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the index decreased by 0.84%.

The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell 0.64% to 553.90 points, after losing 0.26% on Tuesday.

Bulgarian hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:5MH] was the top blue-chip gainer during Wednesday's trading session, closing 0.65% higher at 7.7 levs.
