October 11 (SeeNews) - The Croatian unit of building materials producer LafargeHolcim said on Friday it has acquired local cement producer Readymix Croatia.

It gave no financial details on the acquisition and the planned investment.
The location of the newly-acquired quarry site is strategically important, considering the construction projects in the pipeline for this area, including the Istrian Y motorway, the second pipe of the Ucka tunnel, and the wastewater treatment plant in Istria, among others, Holcim Croatia said.
Holcim Croatia runs two concrete plants - in Karlovac and Kukuljanovo (northern Croatia), a cement factory in Koromacno (on the Istrian peninsula) and two terminals - in the Adriatic city of Zadar and in Jastrebarsko, close to the capital Zagreb. Its existing quarry sites are located in northern Croatia as well - in Sumber, Plovanija and Ocura.
Holcim Croatia is part of the LafargeHolcim Group, established in July 2015 following the merger of two construction material industries, Lafarge and Holcim.
