Greek Alpha Bank's Albanian Unit 9-Mo Pre-Tax Profit Rises 12.6% to 10.4 Mln Euro

November 26 (SeeNews) - Greece's Alpha Bank said the nine-month profit before tax of its Albanian unit rose to 10.4 million euro ($13.5 million) from 9.2 million euro a year earlier.

The Albanian bank's deposit portfolio increased by 33% on the year to 432 million euro at end-Sptember, while its loan portfolio rose by 86% to 406 million euro, providing the bank with a 13% share on the lending market in Albania, Alpha Bank said in a statement released late on Tuesday.

Alpha Bank Albania had a network of 35 branches at the end of September.

Alpha Bank posted a 44.1% rise in nine-month pre-tax profit to 119.3 million euro from operations in southeast Europe (SEE), in which it includes Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Cyprus. The bank's operating income from SEE increased 48.6% on the year to 359.8 million euro.
