German Retailer Metro Invests 100 Mln Euro in Serbia in Last Four Years – Media

November 3 (SeeNews) - German retailer Metro has invested 100 million euro ($128 million) in Serbia since it started operations in the country four years ago, Serbian web portal Emportal reported on Monday.

Metro has opened five hypermarkets in Serbia - two in the capital Belgrade and one in Kragujevac, in central Serbia, one in Novi Sad, the center of the northern province of Vojvodina, and one in Nis, in the east of the country, Emportal, part of the Ekonomist Media Group, reported.

Metro plans to expand its network in Serbia, Emportal said, adding that the company would not give more details for the time being.

In Southeast Europe, Metro Cash&Carry is present in Serbia’s neighbours Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, as well as in Moldova.
