GE Shows Interest in Wind Power Projects in Montenegro - Media

PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 7 (SeeNews) – U.S. diversified industrial giant General Electric has expressed interest in investing in wind power generation facilities in Montenegro, local daily Republika reported on Tuesday.

GE President and CEO for Italy and South East Europe, Giuseppe Recchi, has had talks with Montenegrin officials on possible investments in renewable energy projects in the region, Republika reported but gave no further details.

The cabinet in Podgorica plans to call a tender for the construction of a 10- megawatt wind power generation park in Rumija mountain on the Adriatic coast in early 2009.

GE has also expressed readiness to invest in hydro- and wind power plants in Bosnia, according to Bosnian media.
