Monbat and Albena became members of the SOFIX on Tuesday after the index's second rebalancing this year, replacing hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:5MH] and diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:5SR].

Monbat shares closed Wednesday's trading session 4.76% higher at 6.60 levs, while Albena shares added 3.85% to 43.2 levs.

Monbat and Albena also led gainers among the wider BGBX40 index and the equally-weighted BGTR30 index.

The BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, rose 0.17% to 112.94 points, while the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, added 0.24% to 504.75 points.

The BGREIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, closed 0.15% lower at 126.55 points.

Total regulated market trading turnover grew sharply to 1.77 million levs ($993,000/905,000 euro) on Wednesday from some 224,000 levs on Tuesday.
