The new Biocodex headquarters in Bucharest house a team of over 60 Romanian employees dedicated to meeting the needs of patients in Romania and Moldova, the company said in a press release.

Bicodex wants its newly established Romanian subsidiary to follow the successful example of its other units last opened in Eastern Europe, said Biocodex CEO Nicolas Coudurier.

The company established a subsidiary in Ukraine in 2014. It also has subsidiaries in Russia and Turkey.

"We firmly believe that Biocodex will be the leader of tomorrow in Romania and Moldova, a pioneer in the field of microbiota in all countries where our products are present. We have the ambition, confidence, and desire to invest locally," Coudrier said.

Family-owned Biocodex was established in 1953 in France as a privately held pharmaceutical group. The group has over 1,600 employees worldwide, 16 wholly-owned subsidiaries, and is present in over 100 countries through its distribution network. The business generated sales of 556 million euro ($603.6 million) in 2023.
