October 31 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in September went up to 180,450, an increase of 65% on the year, the country's statistical office reported on Monday.
Foreign tourist arrivals totalled 3.6 million in the first nine months of 2022, up 50% compared with the same period a year earlier, the data shows.
Bosnia was Serbia's biggest feeder market in the nine months through September with 104,235 tourists, up 29% on the year. Citizens of Turkey followed, at 91,793, up 126%. Visitors from Germany came third, up 91% to 85,646.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 29% on the year to 1.6 million in the January-September period, taking the total number of tourists to 2.9 million, up 51%.
In 2022, the total number of foreign nationals who visited Serbia jumped 90% year-on-year, reaching 12 million.
