Foreign tourist arrivals to Kosovo fall 19.9% y/y in Q3 – table

PRISTINA (Kosovo), December 5 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Kosovo in the third quarter of 2019 decreased by 19.9% year-on-year to 53,984, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.

The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Kosovo's hotels decreased to 106,270 in July-September from 119,275 a year earlier, the statistical office said in a statement.

Most of the foreign visitors to Kosovo came from Albania, Germany, and Switzerland. The capital Pristina and the city of Peja were the most preferred destinations.

Kosovo's statistical office said that in the third quarter of 2019 only 15.25% of the country's hotel capacity was used.

According to Kosovo's statistical methodology, tourists are those who stay at least one night in a hotel in the country.
