Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia up 15.5% y/y in Sept

November 9 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia totalled 2.2 million in September, an increase of 15.5% compared to the same month of last year, the statistical office said on Thursday.

The number of overnights spent by foreign tourist inCroatia rose by 3.7% on the year, to 10.9 million in September, the statistical office said in a monthly report.

Local tourist arrivals increased 13.8% on the year to some 235,000, and the number of overnights by local tourists went up 8.1% to 650,000 in September.

Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia reached 15.3 million last year, up 44% compared to 2021.

Tourism is a key industry for the economy of the Adriatic country, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
