Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia rise 35.8% in March

May 7 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Croatia totalled 371,000 in March, an increase of 35.8% compared to the same month of 2023, the statistical office said on Tuesday.

The number of overnights spent by foreign tourist in Croatia rose 43% on the year, to 975,000 in March, the statistical office said in a monthly report.

Local tourist arrivals increased 9.5% on the year to 166,000, and the number of overnights by local tourists went up 15.3% to 346,000 in March.

Foreign tourist arrivals to the Adriatic country rose 10% on the year to 16.855 million in 2023, the same statistical office has said earlier.

Tourism is a key industry for the economy of the Adriatic country, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
