BELGRADE (Serbia), November 30 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in October grew 20% on the year, reaching 136,728, statistical office data showed on Thursday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia too rose by 20% year-on-year, to 281,629 in October, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office.
In the ten months through October the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 18% year-on-year to 1,292,515, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 17% to 2,737,516.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was Serbia's biggest feeder market in October, with 12,361 tourists, up 16% on the year. Croatian citizens followed, up 21% to 10,394. Visitors from Turkey came third, up 30% to 8,523.
The number of domestic tourists increased 10.8% on the year to 144,882 in October, taking the total number of tourists to 281,610, up 15.9%.
