Foreign remittances to Albania up 1.9% y/y in Q2

TIRANA (Albania), September 11 (SeeNews) – The flow of foreign remittances to Albania increased by 1.9% year-on-year to 185.2 million euro ($204.5 million) in the second quarter of 2019, according to central bank data.

Money sent home in the second quarter by Albanian citizens living abroad increased by 23.3% compared with the first quarter of 2018, Bank of Albania said in a current account report.

The flow of foreign remittances to Albania increased to 669.6 million euro in 2018, compared to 635.7 million euro in 2017.
