Austria’s Strabag AG has pitched the lowest bid, offering to carry out the required works at a cost of 634.9 million denars ($15.3 million/10.3 million euro), followed by Slovenia's Energoplan with an offer of 672 million denars, privately-held news agency Makfax (www.makfax.com.mk) quoted the tender commission as saying on Friday.

Austria's Alpine Bau has offered implementation costs of 718 million denars, while the bids of Macedonian construction companies Beton and Granit were for 717 million denars and 702 million denars, respectively, the article said.

According to the parliament's Secretary General, Zarko Denkoski, the project, due to start next year, covers the construction of roof structures, the addition of a third floor, reinforcement of the building structure, as well as giving a facelift to the facade and the main entrance, Makfax said.

The bids wil now be reviewed by the tender commission, it added, giving no further details.
