August 21 (SeeNews) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Moldova increased 24.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, reaching $3.894 billion ($3.4 billion euro), the central bank, BNM, said on Tuesday.
Revised data from BNM showed that FDI into Moldova reached $3.128 billion during the January-March period in 2017.
Of the total, equity investment amounted to $2.01 billion and inter-company lending recorded a net value of $1.14 million, the BNM said in a statement.
EU countries accounted for 82.2% of total FDI, while the share of CIS countries was 9.7%.
In 2017, FDI into Moldova increased 3.3%, reaching $3.701 billion.
