FDI into Albania up 9% in 2023

March 25 (SeeNews) - The inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) in Albania rose to 1.49 billion euro ($1.62 billion) last year, compared to 1.37 billion euro in 2022, central bank data showed on Monday.

On a quarterly comparison basis, FDI decreased 1% to 402 million euro in October-December, from 406 million euro in the July-September period, central bank data showed.

The biggest volume of foreign investment in Albania in the fourth quarter, of 88 million euro, originated in the Netherlands, followed by Turkey with 53.4 million euro and Italy with 51.65 million euro.

The sectors which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in the October-December period of 2023 were real estate with 103 million euro and financial and insurance activities with 70.6 million euro. Mining and quarrying activities brought in investments of 70.35 million euro.
