The new factory, which will employ nearly 100, will assemble the Nora B-52 self-propelled howitzer and the Bov M-10 and Bov M-11 personnel carriers with plans to start making the Lazar 1 and Lazar 2 carriers in cooperation with Russian partners, the government said in a statement.
After cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony, Serbian defence minister Aleksander Vucic said one of the biggest contracts signed by the country's defence industry in the last couple of years is about to be secured shortly. The official gave no further details.
