The new equipment is worth more than 250,000 euro ($324,000), EVN Macedonia said in a statement.

Reclosers are remotely controlled circuit breakers used to detect and interrupt momentary faults in the system.

So far the company has installed reclosers in the regions of Skopje, Veles and Kocani, while the installation in the region of Kratovo is underway. Seven reclosers will be added next year.

EVN Macedonia is part of Austria’s EVN Group.
