February 20 (SeeNews) - The European Commission said on Tuesday it is providing 8 million euro ($8.64 million) to Moldova for humanitarian projects in the context of Russia's ongoing aggression against neighboring Ukraine.
The assistance will target the most vulnerable citizens, including humanitarian cash assistance for basic needs, protection, and health, the Commission said in a press release.
As part of the same initiative, the Commission is allocating 75 million euro to Ukraine in emergency support for basic needs like shelter, protection, clean water, education, and healthcare, particularly in war-torn areas.
The Commission has committed 926 million euro in humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the war began, with 860 million euro within Ukraine and 66 million for refugees in Moldova.
