March 18 (SeeNews) - The European Union and German state-owned development bank KFW are providing 94 million euro ($35 million) in total financing for the construction of a 120 MW photovoltaic plant near Kosovo’s capital Pristina, the European Investment Bank (EIB) said on Monday.
The EU is providing a grant of 32 million euro channelled through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), as well as a 33 million euro investment loan via EIB, the lender said in a press release.
KfW will support the project with a 29 million euro loan.
The plant is set to produce 169 GWh of electricity annually.
The financing aims to support green transition of the Balkan country, and contribute to energy supply security, EIB said.
