The rise in profit was supported by an improved operating result underpinned by continued strong loan growth, BCR Group said in a press release communicating its nine-months unaudited consolidated results.
The group's operating result rose by an annual 24.7% to 1.96 billion lei in the first nine months of 2022 on the back of improved operating income, partly offset by higher operating expenses.
Net interest income grew by 16.9% on the year to 2.1 billion lei during January-September, while net trading result increased 69.4% to 452.9 million lei. Net fee and commission income increased by 11.8% to 693.3 million lei.
The non-performing loans (NPL) ratio decreased to 2.8% at end-September from 3.9% at end-2021, while NPL coverage ratio was 172% at end-September.
Loan volume grew by 13.2% year-on-year to 54.2 billion lei in the first nine months of 2022, while deposits edged up 0.9% to 73.1 billion lei.
