December 19 (SeeNews) - EIB Global, the arm of the European Investment Bank (EIB) devoted to activities outside the EU, will provide a technical assistance grant of 600,000 euro ($637,000) to Kosovo's ministry of education, science, technology and innovation, to help identify needs for improvement in the higher education sector, the EIB said.
"The technical assistance is the first step in the bank’s wider activities to strengthen the Kosovo education sector," the EIB said in a press release last week.
The grant will help provide guidance to establish contemporary education systems and infrastructure for each institution involved in the initiative, EIB vice-president Lilyana Pavlova, responsible for the bank’s activities in the Western Balkans, said.
Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, EIB Global has unlocked 70 million euro for Kosovo to support the faster recovery of small businesses and the construction of wastewater treatment plants, according to the press release.
