Slovenia's economy is expected to expand by 2.6% in 2025, the Commission said in its Spring 2024 Economic Forecast report.

"Inflation is expected to continue to decrease gradually over the forecast horizon. Employment is projected to continue to grow and the unemployment rate to remain low," the Commission said.

The general government deficit is forecast to slightly increase to 2.8% of GDP in 2024 before declining to 2.2% in 2025, after having reached 2.5% in 2023, the Commission noted.

The debt-to-GDP ratio is projected to decrease from 69.2% in 2023 to 68.1% in 2024 and 66.4% in 2025, the EC added.

Slovenia's economy expanded by 1.6% last year after growing by 5.4% in 2022.
