December 27 (SeeNews) - The European Commission (EC) has adopted Bosnia's 2019 Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) programme worth some 85.5 million euro ($95.3 million), the country's Directorate for European Integration said.
Most of the IPA 2019 funds, 25 million euro, will be allocated for the improvement of the rule of law and fundamental rights in the country, the Directorate said in a press release on Tuesday.
The programme also envisages projects in the spheres of democracy and governance, environment, climate actions and energy, education, employment, social policies.
The funds will become available after the EC signs a financial agreement with Bosnia.
According to the provisions of the financial agreement, the contracting of projects within the IPA 2019 programme should be completed three years after the agreement has been signed, at the latest.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of some 3.5 million people.
