The projection sees economic growth backed by strong private consumption and an increase in public infrastructure investments, which also supported the economy last year, EBRD said in its May 2024 Regional Economic Prospects report.
"Credit continued to expand at double-digit rates throughout 2023 and the first months of 2024, supporting household consumption and mirrored in the growth of household deposits," the EBRD said.
In 2025, Kosovo's gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to grow 4%, according to the report.
The economic output of the Western Balkans region where Kosovo belongs is expected to increase by 3.3% in 2024, accelerating from 2.5% growth in 2023. The latest projection represents a downgrade from the EBRD's September forecast of 3.4% expansion in 2024. Moderating inflation and stronger consumption will drive economic growth in the region, the EBRD said.
