EBRD mulls up to 80 mln euro loan for Romania’s BCR to back SMEs

October 16 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Tuesday it is considering providing a senior loan for up to 80 million euro ($104.2 million) in two tranches to Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) for on-lending by BCR to small and medium enterprises and medium corporates in Romania.

The proceeds of the credit line will be used by BCR to provide medium and long-term financing to private companies for production, investment, trade, services and working capital needs, the EBRD said in a notice on its website.

The proposed loan is due to be reviewed by the EBRD board on November 27.
