EBRD Mulls 60 Mln Euro Credit Line for Energy Efficiency Projects in Western Balkans

October 6 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Monday it was considering setting up a 60 million euro ($81.4 million) framework facility for energy efficiency projects in four Western Balkan states.

Under the facility, the EBRD would extend credit lines to banks in Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia for on-lending to private enterprises for investments in industrial energy efficiency, small renewable energy production and energy efficiency in commercial buildings, the bank said in a statement.

The European Union under its Instrument for Pre- Accession Assistance (IPA) 2007 programme will support the facility with a 13.5 million euro grant, it added.

The credit line is pending final review.
