The loan will support the company's plan to expand its supermarket chain, renovate existing stores and logistical facilities, upgrade the distribution center, and ensure compliance with Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) principles, the EBRD said in a press release.
BREEAM certification rates buildings based on their sustainability features.
The EBRD will also be supporting the company in further development through the advisory programs funded by EU, that would address several aspects of KAM operations including the enhancing of the strategic management and corporate governance improvements, the bank added.
Skopje-based KAM, established in 1999, operates 80 supermarkets in North Macedonia. The retailer also has stores in neighbouring Bulgaria and Kosovo.
