The procurement covers civil works for runway rehabilitation, including ground lighting; rehabilitation of taxiways and aprons, including airfield lighting and floodlights; and upgrade and extension of the terminal building, EBRD said on its website.

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2010. The closing date is October 20, 2010, it added.

EBRD has lent 25.5 million euro ($38 million) to the Chisinau airport to finance its upgrade. The total cost of the upgrade is 46 million euro.
