Dutch Damen eyes Montenegro’s Bijela shipyard - media

Damen officials had twice visited the Bijela shipyard and the company is expected to send a letter of intent to the government in Podgorica, news daily Vijesti (www.vijesti.me) reported over the weekend.

Montenegro's government has put its 61.58% stake in Jadransko Brodogradiliste Bijela on the 2012 privatisation list but has not yet called a tender for its sale, Vijesti added.

So far, three tenders for the privatization of Bijela shipyard had failed.

The Bijela shipyard said in August it turned to a net profit of 244,189 euro ($299,960) in the first half of 2012 from a net loss of 1.4 million euro a year earlier. It pared its net loss to 1.6 million euro ($2.1 million) in 2011 from 2.7 million euro in the previous year.
