SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 18 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's Izvozna i Kreditna Banka (IK Banka) and its parent, Dutch-based Demir-Halk Bank (DHB), have provided jointly a 10 million euro ($14.3 million) loan for pre-funding investment of Turkish airport operator TAV in Macedonia, Skopje-based independent Makfax news agency reported on Friday.
TAV won a 20-year concession on Macedonia's two international airports, in Skopje and Ohrid, in September 2008, but the company has delayed its investment in Macedonia several times due to lack of funding.
TAV’s CEO Sani Sener said in September that the modernization of the two Macedonian airports would start on March 1, 2010.
TAV is expected to invest some 200 million euro in total in the two Macedonian airports, Makfax (www.makfax.com.mk) added. The Turkish company operates six airports located in Turkey, Georgia and Tunisia.
