October 20 (SeeNews) - German global banking group Deutsche Bank is studying opportunities for capital investments in Serbia, according to the country's infrastructure ministry.
Thanks to implemented reforms, Serbia has improved significantly its position on the global markets and the bank is interested in investment opportunities in the country, Deutsche Bank's CEO of Central and Eastern Europe Region, Peter Tils, said, as quoted in a statement by the ministry on Thursday.
"This is evident in the sound public finances, the reduction of public debt, but also in everything that has been done in the area of infrastructure," Tils said during a meeting with Serbian infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic.
Tils and Mihajlovic also discussed the existing infrastructure projects in Serbia, the development of Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla, as well as the exchange of experience regarding the improvement of the public-private partnership regulatory framework, the ministry said.
In August, Serbia's government extended to October 23 the deadline for submitting binding offers in a tender for awarding a 25-year concession contract for operating Belgrade Nikola Tesla international airport.
